Princess Diaries - The Hero Cycle
Although Mia Thermopolis appears as an unremarkable 15-year-old, in the film The Princess Diaries, Mia has a greater wawl in feel, which is displayed through the cycle of the hero. Mia lives in San Francisco with her artsy single-mother, Helen. At her high school, she is a social outcast on with her two best friends, Lilly and Lillys brother, Michael. Her friend group consists of a perfect unity of 3 people. Mia secretly aspires to become public and to kiss the boy of her dreams, pull the leg of Bryant. Just as her sixteenth birthday approaches, Mias terra firma is turned around when her remove grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi, informs Mia that she is the next heir of a small European country called Genovia, due to the brief of the King, Mias father. This is Mias call to adventure because this is an issue that provided Mia can conquer. Clarisse tells Mia that the family throne is in danger if she doesnt grade up to the plate as the next heir. While Mia decides if she w ants the business of being apart of the princely family, her Grandmother gives her princess lessons and a fall inover. Her life becomes chaotic when everybody finds out she is a princess. In the film Mia follows Joseph Campbells Cycle of the Hero by displaying her travel into graceful the Princess of Genovia.\nMia, blow out of the water and in disbelief that she is a princess, faces refusal of the call, which is when the hero is hesitant to jeopardize on their journey. She responds to her grandmother give-and- cope by stating, Me, a princess? omit Up! Being touch on about her social standing, Mia feels that becoming a princess will make her seem more of a castaway. Mias mother convinces her to take princess lessons from her grandmother before the Genovia liberty Day Ball.\nGuiding Mia through princess lessons, Clarisse acts as her Supernatural aid, which is a mentor who prepares the hero for their journey by giving advice, knowledge, or a magic weapon.
